Taiwanese Premier and Taipei Mayor join forces against suicide at Buddhist event

Taipei, Taiwan -- Premier Su Tseng-chang and Taipei Mayor Ma Ying-jeou attended an event yesterday sponsored by the Buddhist Dharma Drum Mountain Foundation to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.

New DDM website: Sheng Yen Education Foundation
The purpose of the Sheng Yen Education Foundation is to promote educational endeavors that work to purify people's mind and society based on Master Sheng Yen's vision of 'uplifting the character of humanity and building a pure land on earth'.
The new website is in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese. It has free Pocket Guides to Buddhist Wisdom, and publications such as '108 Paths to Liberation' by Master Sheng Yen, which can be downloaded. One Day Introduction to Chan Meditation Retreat - Sun 18 June
The next one day meditation retreat will be on Sunday 18 June.
As from June, the retreat will be held on the third Sunday instead of Saturday of the month. Details are under 'activities - nsw'.
Dharma talk on 'The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana' by Venerable Tzu Kong on Sat 10 June
Venerable Tzu Kong will be presenting a Dharma talk 'The Awakening of Faith in Mahayana' on Sat 10 June from 1.30 - 3.30pm after the Da Bei Chan session, which is usually held on the second Saturday of the month. All are welcome. The details of the Dharma talk are now available.
